The Annual 2023 Sportsman Boats Sales Training closes out the year with an exciting weekend of plant tours, lowcountry traditions, new sales knowledge and lots of prizes.
The end of the year is always a favorite time of year here at Sportsman Boats. Before we head home for our week long Christmas break with the family we get to celebrate our company and our sales team. Our annual Sales Training Event is hosted the first weekend of December each year and this year marks 8 years of this event. This past weekend we hosted 42 dealers and over 140 sales people at our facility in Summerville, South Carolina. This annual event is something our company hosts each year to thank our hardworking sales people and help further educate them for the year to come. The event started Sunday afternoon with an in-depth plant tour staggered in groups of around 15 people. Our top boat builders give detailed lessons on each process and all the materials we use here at Sportsman. Once all tours had come to an end the groups met outside where they were greeted by live music from local musician Andrew Beam and the forever unmistakable smell of a classic lowcountry boil, warm chili and steamed oysters. This part of the event is always a fan favorite and a great time for the dealers to interact and share their experiences and knowledge with each other.
Monday morning we gathered for sales presentations delivered by our incredibly knowledgeable staff at Sportsman. The team delivers messages about the current sales market, how previous shows and events went, sales strategy to better represent the brand, marketing and new marketing strategies, the Sportsman design and build process, and lastly where Sportsman plans to move going into model year 2025. Once completed we got to hear great messages from our partners, Yamaha, Mercury, Garmin Seakeeper Ride, Seakeeper and Yamaha Financial Services.
The event itself is a great place for our sales people to freshen up their product knowledge, or for people new to the Sportsman line, to gather all the knowledge they need to start the next year off right. Throughout the entire day we had quick giveaways donated by our industry partners, the items were everything from Sportsman backpacks to gift cards to the Sportsman apparel store all the way up to a $3000 Garmin GPSMAP 1243. Before closing the show all of the top sales people of the year were recognized for their hard work and prized with $1000 up to $5000 cash for the number one sales person of the year.
Before closing the show, the top 10 sales people of the year were recognized for their hard work and presented with the coveted Top Sportsman Award and prizes.
