Choosing the right outboard motor for your boat is indeed a crucial decision, as it directly impacts your boating experience. Mercury’s new V10 series with 350HP and 400HP options stands out for its power and innovation. These motors are noteworthy for their V10 configuration and 5.7L displacement, making them versatile enough for both single and multi-engine setups.

At Sportsman, we've integrated these powerful motors into a range of our models, including the Master’s 247 and 267, the Open 252, 262, 302, 322, and 352, as well as the Heritage 261. For boats up to 26 feet, these motors can often eliminate the need for twin engines, while for boats over 30 feet, their torque and power enhance control, particularly during docking, and offer impressive acceleration.

To ensure optimal performance, each boat model is tested with a Mercury representative to select the appropriate propeller. This testing includes various assessments like time to plane, acceleration from 0-30 MPH, and a comprehensive fuel economy review across the RPM range. The results, known as performance bulletins, are available on our website under the power tab for each model.
