A day on the sandbar isn't complete without a good meal to keep everyone's energy up and there's nothing better than a fresh hot cooked meal on the sandbar to do just that.

  • Grilling on a sandbar turns a day on the water into a social gourmet experience as friends and family gather around the sizzle and aroma.
  • There are several boat grill options to fit your setup including the Magma Kettle with a rod holder fold out tables with tabletop grills and stainless steel models.
  • Keep a grill onboard for spontaneous cookouts and hang the grill over the side when using rod holder mounts to make cleanup easier.

One of the highlights of my boating adventures is a day spent with family and friends out on the sandbar. There's something truly special about lounging in the sun with a cold "soda," watching my dog and son play around while everyone enjoys the idyllic island setting. But as the day progresses, sandwiches sometimes just don’t cut it. That’s when I fire up my Magma Kettle grill, transforming our sandbar escapade into a gourmet barbecue.

The aroma of sizzling hamburgers mingling with the salty sea breeze quickly attracts a crowd. It’s amazing how the smell of grilled food can draw people together, creating a festive atmosphere on the water.

One unforgettable grilling experience took place in Stuart while we were filming our new boat models. As the sun began to set and hunger set in, a familiar sight appeared: a big center console piloted by my friend Shane Hunt, owner of Sand N Sea. He and his family joined us, and we set up an impromptu grilling station. Shane cooked up some of the best steak sandwiches I’ve ever had on the water—truly a highlight of the day.

There are several great options for boat grills that can elevate your sandbar experience. I personally use the Magma Kettle with a rod holder attachment. It’s compact, efficient, and easy to set up. However, there are plenty of other choices out there. For example, a fold-out table with a tabletop grill is a fantastic option if you have the storage space. Magma offers a range of sizes and mounting options to fit different needs, while Bunker Up Fishing also provides excellent stainless steel grills with various mounting solutions.

If you haven’t tried grilling on your boat, you’re definitely missing out. I keep my grill onboard at all times because you never know when a spontaneous cookout might be in order. Whether you’re out fishing and catch some fresh fish or simply want a delicious meal on the water, having a grill ready can make all the difference. Just be sure to hang the grill over the side of the boat if you’re using the rod holder mount to make clean-up easier.

So, if you’re looking to enhance your boating adventures, consider investing in a quality boat grill. Order one today, and get ready to enjoy delicious meals on the water!
