Yamaha has revolutionized the outboard market once again with the introduction of the all-new 4.3L F350. Lighter, more advanced, and packed with features like integrated steering and Digital Electric Control (DEC), this powerhouse is ready to elevate your boating experience.
Over the past two decades, the demand for high-performance, high-horsepower outboards has surged. Yamaha set a new standard in 2007 with the introduction of the 5.3L V8 F350, the most advanced outboard of its time. After its discontinuation in 2019, Yamaha has been hard at work developing a successor. This spring, they unveiled the all-new 4.3L F350, and it’s already making waves.
The new F350 is the lightest in its class while retaining the advanced intelligence of its predecessor. It builds on the proven foundation of the F300, incorporating several key components. Notably, the F350 features integrated steering and is fully compatible with Helm Master EX, a major advantage for multi-engine setups. The exhaust vent is positioned just above the cavitation plate, ensuring that air bubbles are kept away from the propeller at lower RPMs, which significantly improves its bite and overall performance while using Helm Master EX and navigating around the dock.
Another highlight is the exclusive use of Digital Electric Control (DEC), which eliminates the need for shifter cables and hydraulic steering lines with Digital Electric Steering (DES) as discussed earlier. This results in a cleaner transom and a much simpler mounting process.
The F350 also boasts an all-new 4.3L engine block, derived from the reliable 4.2L block of the F300. Key upgrades include an enhanced throttle body, a redesigned induction system that provides 40% greater airflow, and a reinforced clutch dog gear in the lower unit which offers more teeth to handle the additional 50 horsepower.
At Sportsman, we are excited to integrate this powerhouse into our lineup, offering it across seven different models. The F350 is a standout choice for the Masters 247 and Open 302, where it meets the maximum horsepower rating for both models. We look forward to seeing the new F350 on the transom of your next Sportsman boat. Happy boating!
