The Sportsman Open 402 is a 40-foot flagship built for whatever the day calls for, from an offshore run with your fishing crew to an afternoon anchored at a sandbar with family.
  • •
Comfort features like wraparound bow seating, an electric bow table that converts to a sundeck, four captain's chairs, rear-facing mezzanine seating and an air-conditioned cabin with a convertible queen-sized berth, galley and enclosed shower keep everyone settled in between destinations.

Fishing capability stays front and center with twin 295-quart insulated in-deck fish boxes, twin pressurized 40-gallon aquarium livewells and a stowable rear bench that opens up the cockpit when it's time to put lines in the water.

Some days start with an offshore fishing plan. Others call for a slow cruise, a favorite sandbar and no real schedule for getting home. The Sportsman Open 402 was designed with all of those days in mind, bringing the space and versatility to enjoy the water however you choose.

Our newest lifestyle video takes you aboard our 40-foot flagship for a look at what that can mean: room to gather with friends, comfortable places to settle in for the ride and a cockpit ready when it’s time to put lines in the water.

Room to Spend the Day Your Way

Up front, wraparound bow seating creates a natural gathering place. The electric bow table converts the area from a place to share lunch into a sundeck, then lowers flush with the deck when you want more room to move.

At the helm, four captain’s chairs keep the crew together for the ride, while dual Garmin displays put navigation and boat information within easy reach. Rear-facing mezzanine seating offers another place to relax and stay connected to what’s happening in the cockpit.

Below the console, an air-conditioned cabin provides a welcome place to take a break. A convertible queen-sized berth, galley and private enclosed shower add comfort for the hours between destinations.

Ready When the Plans Turn Offshore

The Open 402 also brings the fishing features you expect from a Sportsman. Twin 295-quart insulated in-deck fish boxes provide generous catch storage, while twin pressurized 40-gallon aquarium livewells keep bait close to the action. Stow the rear bench, and the cockpit opens up for fishing.

That flexibility is what makes the Open 402 feel at home across a full weekend on the water. An offshore trip with your fishing crew and an afternoon cruising with family can both start at the same helm.
