  • Open 322 is built for family adventures with a smart layout and strong performance for both sandbar days and offshore trips
  • Radar and dual VHF radios keep the Cooks safe and connected offshore
  • The boat turns trips from the Intracoastal to the Bahamas into a family tradition and gateway to new adventures

If it’s a perfect day in South Florida, chances are you’ll find Will Cook and his 2023 Open 322 out on the water. After two years and more than 500 hours at the helm, Will’s Open 322 has seen it all—from calm afternoons at the sandbar to sporty days running the Gulf Stream and everything in between.

Before stepping up to his Open 322, Will and his family were already part of the Sportsman family with a smaller model, enjoying countless days exploring the Intracoastal. When it came time to upgrade, the Cooks knew exactly what they wanted. The layout, finish, and performance of the Open 322 checked every box, and in 2023 they brought home their brand-new boat.

Adventures Beyond the Horizon

The Cooks don’t just use their Open 322 locally—they’ve made it their ticket to adventure across South Florida and beyond. Over the past two years, they’ve logged trips to Stuart, the Florida Keys, and multiple crossings to the Bahamas.

Some of the standout memories include runs to West End, where they stayed at Old Bahama Bay Resort, fished the crystal-clear waters, and spent time cruising those iconic Bahamian flats. For many boaters, exploring the Bahamas is the ultimate bucket-list trip, and Will and his crew have turned it into a family tradition.

Confidence Offshore

When it comes to making those longer runs, Will has outfitted his Open 322 with the right equipment to stay safe and confident offshore. A radar unit helps him keep an eye on his surroundings in all conditions, while dual VHF radios—one tuned to channel 9 and the other to channel 16—keep him connected and prepared at all times.

Interestingly, the only feature you won’t find on his Open 322 is a set of outriggers. Will’s setup is tailored perfectly to what he and his family love most—long cruises, sandbar days, and memorable runs up and down the coast.

We love hearing stories like Will’s. For him, the Open 322 isn’t just a boat—it’s a gateway to more time with family, new adventures, and unforgettable days on the water. With over 515 hours already logged, we can’t wait to see what the next 500 bring.

Wishing the Cook family many more incredible weekends on the water!
