The Open 402 is the new flagship of Sportsman Boats and the next step forward in our design, technology and on-water experience. Around here, we call it Sportsman 3.0.
Built from real feedback and real time on the water, the Open 402 was designed around the way owners actually use their boats. It is made for family days, serious fishing, long runs, entertaining and overnight trips, all in one fully integrated 40-foot center console.
With a 13-foot beam, 23-degree deadrise at the transom and our SportTech® Advanced Vacuum Infusion process, the Open 402 delivers the strength, performance and confidence expected from a Sportsman. It is also designed from the ground up with Seakeeper Ride Quad 750 as standard equipment, helping create a more balanced and controlled ride.
The layout is built for versatility. The bow converts from a social lounge to a sun deck to an open fishing area, while the mid-ship command center features a panoramic seamless glass windshield, quad captain’s chairs and a fully integrated helm. SportLink ties navigation, sonar, audio, lighting, pumps and system data together through a clean, intuitive interface.
In the rear cockpit, the Open 402 is ready to fish hard and entertain with ease. Twin 40-gallon pressurized aquarium livewells, large macerated fish boxes, Gemlux rod holders, Hubbell electric reel outlets and wide-open cockpit space make it ready for offshore days. Dual side entry doors, washdowns, underwater lights and smart storage make it just as comfortable at the dock or sandbar.
Down below, the Open 402 offers a fully appointed cabin with a convertible queen-sized berth, U-shaped dinette, galley, private enclosed shower, porcelain head, air conditioning and standard Fischer Panda generator. It is a space designed to make longer days easier and overnight trips more realistic.
