When retiring I was looking for a new boat for offshore purposes. I needed a boat that was small enough to trailer easily but yet large enough to feel safe in big water. I stopped at boat shows, looked on the internet, then went to several marinas comparing many brands. We settled on the 232 Open for its style and componets. There was no shopping around for T-Tops, Electronics, etc. Everything was set up in the boat the way I would have it done. I urge others to check Sportsman out before buying

Best riding boat I have ever owned. I have owned over 20+ boats in my life and Sportsman took a lot of time designing this one. The hull rides great and the access to the electronics and bilge is great especially the lighting in the bilge access area makes it nice to do service on it.

I recently purchased the 232 Open and have been extremely happy with it. Living on Lake Erie means that you never know whether you're going out in 1 footers or 4 footers and my passengers are always dry when we get back to the dock. It has all of the amenities of boats priced a lot higher and I feel I couldn't have made a better choice.

Awesome boat! Looks great! Rides great! Trailers great! I couldn't be happier. Plenty on fishing features and family too. What sold me was all the standard features. 9" screen, bow cushions with back rests! Trim tabs, flip up bolsters on the leaning post, rod holders, livewell and hull color??? All standard...WHAT? Amazing! The other brands can't touch that with a 10' pole. Thanks sportsman, I'm a believer.

I recently purchased a SPORTSMAN 242 OPEN boat. I have been boating since I was a young man. I'm not so young now. This boat is fantastic. It is perfect for recreation as well as fishing. We love cruising with the family for a gentle evening outing. But I also really enjoy the extra space in the back of the boat that makes fishing easy and comfortable. The electronics on this boat are unlike any I have seen on a boat of this size. The structure of the boat is as solid as you will find.

When I purchased it, the 282 open wasn’t part of the sportsman line when I saw it at the Houston Boat show there was nothing that offered what sportsman offered so the choice was simple. I felt that the sportsman boat was superior to the other boats in the same class. I hope to enjoy years of great fishing on the 282 open.

I purchased my first Sportsman 211 CC in 2015 at the Fort Myers boat show. I put almost 300 hours on the 150 Yamaha outboard. Great overall boat for recreation and fishing but a little small for when our kids and grandkids come for a visit in Florida. In March 2018 I traded the 211 CC for a 282 CC Sportsman. The 282 CC is probably the best overall boat I have ever owned for recreation and fishing. I would highly recommend Sportsman Boats to anyone interested in Center Console.

Decided to sell some Hotrods and get a boat to go fishing with my 17 year daughter we looked at a lot of boats and for the money the platinum 227 had features others didn't . I don't fish but was told by many to look at sportsman and see lots on my drives during the weekends . Every veteran fisherman that has been on my boat loves the handling and layout . Since I have never owned a boat I take there word. Lines on boat are very slick and have no issues. Would hightly recommend looking at one

I crawled on and rode almost every 22-24 Bay Boat available before I actually stepped onto a Tournament 234. The moment I stepped into the cockpit, I was sold. Big inside, but skinny water ready. Layout just right. Technology and use of current features is cutting edge. And the finish...then I rode on it. And, the deal closed right then.
Ride a T234, look at the features, weigh the cost. A few more bucks gets you a ton more boat. I've had 20 boats in my life. Best value I've owned!

The Sportsman 211 is a great near shore boat (40 miles) and has plenty of fuel for a day of fishing. I have upgraded to the 232 Open for more fuel capacity. I live in north Florida where it is a 70 mile trip out to the ledges to fish for tuna and dolphin. The boat is a dry ride in moderate seas (3-4'). The draft on the 211 is 12" and the 232 is 14" allowing you to get in shallow if you still want to fish back water. Recommend a power pole if fishing the shallows. Outstanding Boat for the money.

It's great for fishing in skinny water and the ride and stability allows you to venture offshore for a different kind of fishing. The ride is also very dry and comfortable. My Open 212 sportsman is a great boat that accommodates my offshore and inshore fishing needs. Sportsman has built a comfortable fishing machine. The boat handles well in light to small chop (2-3 fts). The Simrad electronics have great custom abilities to find any boat owner. Storage is good but over the top, good for an offshore vessel. Wiring and maintenance hatches allow for great room and ease of work. Overall, very satisfied as a sportsman owner.

I am not really allowed, because of my profession, to have opinions or make comparisons vs other boat brands. I can say that the fit, finish, performance, overall appearance, very small number of "issues" and overall assembly of Sportsman Boats is an exceptional value and the Manufacturer has integrity.

I chose the Sportsman over Triton, Key West and Majek because of comparable ride quality, fit and finish and standard equipment. For me Sportsman delivered comparable performance and the best value. Nobody and no Company is perfect so I don't judge on issues but how they are addressed. Thus far I will say Sportsman and their network have stood behind the product and that speaks much higher than the minor issue I have experienced. Very happy with the product, support and Dealer. Buy one!

Bigger is better... Moved up this year from a 227 to a 247 and bigger is better. Never did I think you could us a 24' boat with a 300 in the Carolina creeks to catch bait shrimp, keep 4 quarts alive, wash up with fresh water washdown and get on to fishing. With a jack plate we go as skinny as any other smaller bay boat. Yet when we cruise to the drop we are riding in the comfort a bigger boat. The 247 is really a fine choice for coastal fishing. The changes the the Sportsman make every year just make it better.

It is well built & there are a lot of innovations & attention to detail in the design. The boat rides well in choppy water. The bow design is perfect for Charleston waters. Plenty of seating for entire extended family (seating for 12). The Simrad electronics package is easy to use. Nice lighting package!

Bought the boat in June of 2017 new, performs flawlessly and does well in the ocean with an impressive ride. The electronics from SIMRAD are fantastic and their integration into the boat as part of a unified system is an impressive feature that brought me to Sportsman. Many who have seen the boat have stated that I got the boat at a steal in regards to what other manufacturers similarly spec'd would have charged, I agree. No issues to report thus far.

After deciding on boating needs we looked at several similar style boats. The Sportsman boats were a wise choice with no hassles over choosing options. All the options that you need come on the boat. What works best was already picked out and installed on the boat. This boat can handle rough water situations and performs better than I ever thought. The Yamaha outboard delivers on performance and efficiency. I was surprised on just how far I can travel and troll without refueling concerns.

Well with about 30 hours on my 232 open, I really have no complaints. Boat has been solid and for a modified v hull rides very well. Been in 3-5 foot seas and was able to cruise at 20mph. Very fuel efficient boat, with the 200 I can cruise 25 miles out, troll for 8 hours, then come home all with only burning 25 gallons (4 guys & loaded to the gills). The tall gunnales are great for small kids, we have a toddler and dont have to worry about him climbing out. Very satisfied so far!

The boat itself is sturdy and rides comfortably in steady 3-4 seas. The 212 is a solid fishing platform that easily transforms into a family cruising vessel.
